How can we help?
Answers to common questions are below. If you don't find what you need, email us and we'll get back to you.
In an emergency, follow the National Weather Service, local officials and NOAA Weather Radio. WeatherVector is not an official warning source.
Push alerts
How do I turn on alerts?
- Sign in and save at least one place.
- Open Saved locations and turn on alerts for this device. Allow notifications when your browser or phone asks.
- Switch alerts on for each place you want, and pick your alert types.
- Press Send test alert to make sure it works.
Alerts are set up per device, so repeat these steps on each phone or computer you want alerts on.
Alerts aren't arriving
- Send a test alert. If it doesn't arrive, notifications are probably blocked for WeatherVector in your browser or device settings.
- iPhone and iPad (web app): push alerts only work after you add WeatherVector to your Home Screen. In Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen, then open WeatherVector from the new icon and turn alerts on again.
- Check that Focus, Do Not Disturb or battery saver modes aren't silencing notifications.
- Make sure alerts are switched on for the place, and that the alert type is selected.
- On Android, make sure your browser or the app is allowed to run in the background.
I'm getting too many alerts
Open your alert types and choose fewer, or use a preset like "Tornado + flash flood only". If you turned on US-wide alerts, you can limit them to certain states.
Location
"Could not get your location"
- Allow location for WeatherVector in your browser's site settings, or in your phone's settings under Privacy and Location.
- Make sure location services are on for your device.
- You can always search for a city, ZIP code or address instead.
Your location is used on your device and isn't sent to us unless you save it as a place. See the Privacy Policy.
Radar
The radar looks old or isn't updating
- Press L or tap the latest frame to jump to the newest scan.
- Radar sites sometimes go offline for maintenance. Try a nearby radar.
- Level III products usually arrive 1-3 minutes after a scan. A full Level II volume can take 5-10 minutes. Pro users can turn on FastScan for tilts within seconds.
How do I use my own color tables?
Open Settings, find Color table, and choose Import .pal to load a GR2Analyst or RadarScope file.
Keyboard shortcuts
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| Space | Play or pause the loop |
| Left and right arrows | Step through frames |
| Up and down arrows | Change tilt |
| 1-9 | Switch products |
| Shift + 1-9 | Switch broadcast scenes |

| B | Broadcast mode |
| L | Jump to latest scan |
Streaming overlay
How do I add WeatherVector to OBS?
- In WeatherVector, open Settings and find Streaming (OBS). Choose Copy radar + graphics link or Copy graphics-only link. You'll need Plus or Pro.
- In OBS, add a new Browser source and paste the link as the URL.
- Set the width and height to your canvas size, for example 1920 × 1080.
- For the graphics-only mode, the background is transparent, so place it above your own radar capture.
Streamlabs and vMix work the same way with their browser or web sources. Keep your overlay link private. If it gets shared, choose Reset overlay key in Settings, which turns off the old link.
You're welcome to show WeatherVector on your streams and videos, including monetized ones. See Streaming and broadcast use in our Terms.
